Aerial industry

You know what happens when you open the fridge, take out a few ingredients and now you need to decide what to do with them?
It can go both ways. Either you are cooking just another dish, or with the help of the right spices, you can turn it to something special that no one ever tasted before.

For the corporate knowledge management of the Israeli Air Industry (IAI), it was exact kind of problem. sort of…
As part of transformation in the company’s knowledge management abilities, the IAI held a Kickoff in order to launch and present the organizational change accruing in the company during the following year. This change is going to effect on the entire company activity. Firstly, presented to the senior management and followed by the entire company.

When we started working on this project, we came forward with two major challenges:

  1. How do you make knowledge management an accessible subject in an interesting way which will help hornets the company’s employees?
  2. How do you deal with skepticism considering previews attempts to create change?

ONE KNOWLEDGE

First, our process needed to sharp our ‘why’.
The meaning of this is not to create just another small change, but a big change which will create major impact.
A change guided by a clear vision and creating a cultural organization based on cooperative, preservation and renewable of knowledge assets, and creating innovation.
Change, which has its entire purpose is to turn knowledge management into an advantage and pivot from lack of organized infrastructure, into an central corporate engine for creating innovation and business growth.
We named it ‘Knowledge Mastering’

So, how do you create change?

First, you start from the bottom. We started showing our leading value for the change. True change is happening with collaboration of the employees, from the bottom, with an ‘Army of knowledge leaders’ and the senior management of the company.
Later, we expanded about ‘Knowledge Mastering’ and presented a working methodology which is effective for creating change.
Finally, we made it simple to implement on a daily basis. how different processes are going to fit in with the daily tasks of the entire company.

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season.”

The change in knowledge mastering was presented during the Tu Bishvat holiday, Jewish holiday which celebrates the planting of trees.
As in this holiday, we celebrate nature an growth, so this organizational change will be. Change with solid foundations and strong roots will lead to growth and working in a smarter, innovative and better ways.
