Having a Storytelling Expert On Board

Sometimes our clients wish they could take us with them to the confrences or investor pitches.
In our recent project with Landa Digital Print, a long-term client, we managed to make this happen. Our professional storyteller, Lior, accompanied them to the PRE-DRUPA preview event, where printing technology experts from across the global industry gather to showcase and discuss innovative solutions in the field. Lior had worked with the client on content production for the project in continuation of many collaborations over the years at key junctures such as investor presentations and year-end summaries, and shortly before the flight they asked her to join them to present the materials at locations in Los Angeles and New York.

Joining the team on an overseas conference is an exciting event, as well as an amazing opportunity for one-on-one work and getting down to the detailes of the presentation. After leading several projects and getting to know the team, Lior brought additional value by incorporating the strategic process we had partnered on into the delivery of the messages in the presentation.

We faced a challenging task – to keep the audience engaged for three whole hours as the company presents its vision for 2024, focusing on the uniqueness of the company's product, technology and business side. We are not afraid of challenges and after a process of refining messages and focusing on the target audience, content was created, designed and built with care, from the design language in the presentation to the order of speakers and creating connections between them. The result included a customer panel telling how Landa improved their business in a way that would not be possible with any other printing press, and mesmerizing content about the company's innovative technologies. The conference was a great success and there was a lot of interest in the solutions Landa offers to the industry.

Here are three key takeaways from the trip:

  1. Everything is personal – a lot is said about the importance of personal connection with customers. When you spend so many hours with the team, and there is great involvement and responsibility in the project, strong personal and professional connections are created that contribute to shared motivation and a sense of satisfaction and success. The Landa family provided a warm welcome and made us feel like we belonged from the very first moment, so the way was easy for a pleasant, personal and professional process.
  2. Zoom has it’s limits – today we spare ourselves many hours of traffic jams and headaches through Zoom meetings, but sometimes there is no substitute for a face-to-face meeting. The very fact that the entire content was delivered in the presence of everyone created cross-fertilization, a deeper understanding of the role of each team member in the structure and connection to the larger goal behind the content at the conference.
  3. The presentation is alive, and that's what leaves a mark – anyone who works with us knows that we believe a presentation is not a pile of slides, it tells a story and convey messages that impact the audience. Working closely on the presentation in real time before and after the content presentation allowed Lior to experience up close how the presentation came to life, which parts of the story got enthusiastic screen shots and how the audience merged with the experience.
It was a great privilege to witness how a presentation we helped create left a mark on representatives from across the global printing industry. We thank Landa for their close and long-standing relationship and for their trust in us.

In the meantime, Lior is preparing her passport for the DRUPA conference itself, which will take place on 5/28. After all, it's not every day you get to bring a storytelling expert with you to an international conference...
